Happy Holidays!! Please remember to be safe and use
your head. Riding conditions are not yet what we would like them to be in
our area. I am planning on doing several ladies rides this year.
They will be all sorts of different rides, including helping beginner
riders become more confident in there riding and just being in the back
country. Intermediate rides/clinics, this will be for anyone that wants
to learn maybe how to carve, hill climb, boondock etc. Ladies ride will
be for fun; this will be for all stages of ladies to come join me in riding in
our back yard. I hope to still do a Breast Cancer event again this year;
I am planning on doing it in February at this time. I will have more up
to date information as it develops.
I have been working with my husband and a group of individuals this past fall
fighting the Hidden Gems Wilderness Proposal; this affects our riding here
locally in the Western Slope of Colorado, over 400,000 acres in my back yard literally
600 or so yards from my house. If you would like to help us fight please
visit the White River Forest Alliance website and join as a member it
is free, also if you can donate we have a quick, safe and secure donation page.
My husband, Sean, has also become the president of our snowmobile club, Mt.
Sopris Rec. Riders. We have had some great success with this so far,
we have put together a successful fundraiser that included a band, dinner and a
great door prize giveaway including: Bronco Tickets (club level), gift
certificates from several local business'. We also had our Christmas
party which over 39 people showed up for, the most Sean can ever remember.
The club has all of the positions filled which is a first in many years
as well.
Thank you to all of my sponsors and family for all of the support you have
given me, for my passion of snowmobiling and helping get others involved in the
wonderful family sport of snowmobiling!!

Ladies
Ride and Clinics 2008-2009 Season-Glenwood
Springs, Carbondale, and Grand
Mesa areas
I
am doing these rides and clinics to help gain interest in the
snowmobiling industry
at no charge, donations may be accepted for fuel. Many women
are getting
into riding
and enjoying themselves, but maybe you don't feel comfortable
riding and practicing with the boys. Are you not going as
much as you
would enjoy? Here is the chance to learn from the basics of
riding,
learning to carve, side hill, climb hills, powder riding, technical
tree
riding, following maps, safety skills and to survive outdoors including
what
you may need for overnight, along with many other items.
I have
many years of snowmobile experience, and I feel grateful to be able to
have the
confidence to share with others helping them gain the confidence in
riding and
acquire new riding skills. I am available most weekends and
some during
the week, I would be willing to come to YOUR house, with-in reason, to
pick you
and your snowmobile up. We then would drive to the trail head
and off we
go!! I would like to have at least 2 others to go with on
these rides. I
will have with me, my safety gear, food, water, sled/sleds, 2 way
radios.
You will need to have your own food, water, safety gear, and
snowmobile.
I do not drink while riding nor will I allow alcohol on these
rides, if
you want a drink after the ride not a problem, but not until we are
completely
done. Also, I would like you to know how to change your own belt before
we
leave, as all of the snowmobiles have there own tricks.
You may not have
the strength to do this but at least you should know how to do
it. We
will have a schedule we would need to stick to for safety
reasons. This
is not a guide service, and I am out here to teach safe riding and
skills, I am
not responsible for damages done while out on these rides. We
all assume
our own responsibility for any damages or injuries while
riding. My goal
is to teach safety to the best of my ability and for all of us to
return to the
truck un-injured. Please take riding serious and be
responsible. I
hope to meet and ride with a great group of ladies!!!
If you are interested, please send me a e-mail at kristy@kristy-martin.com or

Ladies
Ride
I
would like to shoot
for this weekend for the ladies ride. It will be hosted out
of 4-mile parking
lot out side of Glenwood Springs, Colorado. The ride will
consist of all
type of riding skills. It is for everyone, and you should
make sure you
pack a lunch and beverages (I practice safe riding and would prefer you
keep
the booze at the truck/hotel)!! Please dress for the weather,
and be
ready to ride. I will try to accommodate to the best I can
for all types
of riding!!! This is a great time to meet other ladies that
ride and
share our experiences. If there is enough interest for a
second day
riding, would you like to have the guys join in on the fun?
OR We could
take a nice ride to Electric Mountain Lodge play along the way, fuel up
there,
and have lunch and ride back or stay the night there ride back the next
day.
When you email or phone me, I need to know your needs of
motel and what
your ride preferences are for the 1 or 2 days.
Some
Clinics are still open, Please make a date ASAP as the weekends are
filling up!!!

wonderful
prizes and those that bought the raffle tickets!!!

For the
raffle several of us worked hard and got donations from the snowmobile
community, for the ride, t-shirts have been designed and donated with
logos
from all of the companies that contributed to the cause. The
